Use the embedded Web server or the HP ToolboxFX You can use the embedded Web server (EWS) or HP ToolboxFX to view or change the IP configuration settings. To access the embedded Web server, type the IP address for the product in the address line of the browser. NOTE: Macintosh users can access the EWS by clicking the Utility button when viewing the print queue. This will start a Web browser, such as Safari, which allows the user to access the EWS. The EWS can also be accessed directly by typing the network IP address or DNS name of the product into the Web browser. From the Networking tab (EWS) or the Network Settings tab (HP ToolboxFX), you can change the following configurations: ● Host Name ● Manual IP Address ● Manual Subnet Mask ● Manual Default Gateway NOTE: Changing the network configuration might require you to change the browser URL before you can communicate with the product again. The product will be unavailable for a few seconds while the network resets.

I recently bought an iMac i7 desktop running the latest OSX Lion 10.7.3 I had been using my all-in-one HP 3055 scanner and printer without a problem on my old clunky PC (WinXP). I can print BUT NOT SCAN with this AIO device now.
HP doesn't seem to have a driver available and not sure if they'll even write one? I even opened up 'Terminal' in OSX to try and run 'sudo' to no avail. Do you have any idea how to enable the scanner to be used on Lion 10.7.3? Many thanks for any help on this very difficult request. Not only does the device print, but it scans much faster (3-times) than my old PC with WinXP. Not a fair comparison though, as my iMac is the i7 chip and OSX Lion 10.7.3. You don't say what software you're trying to use to scan, either; you may wish to try another one. If you want to experiment, you can download a free photo editing package that won't take over all your preferences for files - check out portableapps.com and look for GIMP. I've got an older HP printer, a PSC 1610, and it took me something like.seven. times installing it on Vista before it worked right. It turns out there's the regular uninstall, and then there's a super uninstall, and then there's a super duper uninstall, etc - something like seven different uninstallation procedures, which is just insane. HP's drivers and cruddy software convinced me to never by another one. It's a shame - the company made some laser printers 15 years ago that are still working perfectly.
